The amount of paint you will need depends on a lot of factors including the size of the vehicle you are painting, how much of the vehicle you are painting, which color you use, your spray equipment, and the technique and skill of your painter. The EKK series is best used for tinting colors. The EKB series resembles the EKU series closely and is a better choice for taping and doing graphics than the EKU series. The KGC Series is the easiest to apply and repair but has a slightly different look than the EKU Series. In general the EKU Series is the deepest, wettest, look but most difficult to spray and repair. We offer candy in four forms 2K urethane candy (EKU Series), Candy Basecoat (EKB Series), Pearlized Candy Basecoat (KGC Series), and Candy Dye Concentrates (EKK Series). What is the difference in the 4 types of candy you offer? If you are concerned about the longevity of candy paints you might consider some of our transparent 3 stage pearl and metallic finishes that have the look of candy with excellent durability. Vehicles that spend all day, every day in the sun can fade substantially over a 2-3 year period whereas many show vehicles that are garage kept and used for shows and cruising will last for 5-10 years+. The longevity depends on the amount of candy applied, which and how much clear is used, and how much time the vehicle spends outside in the sun. True candy paints like our EyeKandy candy paints are made from dyes which provide a deeper, richer color than normal automotive paints but typically fade faster than our traditional solid, metallic, and pearlescent colors. WARNING: This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer. These products are designed for use by professionally trained autobody painters with proper personal protective equipment (PPE) in an approved spray booth and are not recommended for at home or "do it yourself" type applications. NOTE: Automotive paints, such as those represented on this site, can be hazardous to your health, and as such, require specialized equipment and training to use properly and safely. If you plan to candy paint your door jambs, trunk and/or engine bay we recommend you purchase additional quarts or kits. This totals to more than 4 gallons of sprayable paint for one incredible value! This is typically enough to paint the exterior of the average sized vehicle. Selection of other base colors or more or less candy material applied will change the final color. Photos shown with 3 coats over Stellar Silver Metallic base coat.
